Scott was born and raised in a shore community in New Jersey. As a teenager Scott earned the rank of Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America. Scott along with his wife Jennifer purchased Off Leash K9 Training, Maryland in 2012 and runs the day to day operations of the company.
Scott uses his experience to handle Any Breed, Any Age, Any Size. He has worked with dogs from 3.5lbs to 175lbs. He loves to spend his free time working with his Belgian Malinois “Boo”, volunteering as a Scout Master with his boy’s troop or enjoying an Oriole’s game at the yard with his family.
She came to Off Leash with experience in training obedience, as well as therapy dogs. She was also involved, and, volunteered with a local Rottweiler Rescue.
When she’s not working, she can be found hiking through the woods with her own pack of 3 pups, her son, and, husband. When asked if it’s overwhelming having so many dogs come in and out of her home, between her 3 and all the Board and Trains, her reply is simply “Dogs bring so much love into my home…I wish I could have more.”
Tammy’s favorite part of training is seeing the excitement on a dog’s face when they know they’ve pleased their owner with what they have learned. They show a genuine sense of pride, and, there’s nothing else like it. She works hourly lessons, as well as our Board and Train program.
“Dogs are truly amazing creatures. I feel so privileged to be with them all day, everyday. There’s nothing else I would rather be doing.”
Kathy is the office manager for Off Leash. With over a decade of experience in project management, she came to Off Leash to pursue her passion of working with animals. She enjoys helping clients choose the obedience package that will give them the relationship they are dreaming of. “One of my most enjoyable moments is watching the relationship between human and canine transform into understanding and respect” Here she is with her own GSD, board and train graduate “Cleo”.
Jennifer is married to Scott and runs the day to day operations at Off Leash K9 Training Maryland. Even though she is often stuck behind a computer screen she does spend several days a week with the new trainers during their internship helping them through their certification. When she isn’t working she loves camping with her threeAussies “Loki, Kimber & Pippa” and taking some time to read a new book. Jennifer is a Certified Canine Behaviorist through International College of Canine Studies, specializing in anxiety and aggression. She is also a certified Therapy Dog Evaluator, and a CGC Evaluator. Alex grew up in Howard County, MD with multiple dogs, cats, reptiles and fish throughout childhood. During High School, she volunteered at a horse farm for special equestrians. She learned how to take care of and handle the horse before, during and after lessons. After high school, she started working at a dog daycare and boarding facility. Here, she had hands on training on how to read behaviors and personalities of many dog breeds. While she was figuring out how to further her knowledge and get into the world of dog training, she came across Off Leash, which was exactly what she was looking for.
Growing up in New Jersey, as far as Patricia can remember she had an abiding love for animals. She was always finding and bringing home stray kittens, bunnies and even a turtle. After retiring from the Baltimore City Fire Department as a Paramedic/Firefighter, Patricia worked at the Baltimore Zoo studying and recording animal behavior with several species including the polar bears, snow leopards and chimpanzees, along with assisting with zoo’s animal enrichment program. She also volunteered and worked at several animal shelters including Baltimore Humane Society where she received dog training experience and certification in the Open Paws Program. This program is designed to reduce stress within the shelter setting along with implementing courses of socialization, both puppy and dog play groups, and a children’s reading program for adoptable dogs and cats.
Patricia lives with 2 dogs, her retired greyhound racer, Gash and her White Swiss Shepherd, Spirit Gunner and 4 retired show cats. Both her dogs enjoy participating in tracking, AKC Fast CAT, and lure coursing competitions. One of Patricia’s cats earned 3rd place in the Southern Region Cat Conformation show and 13th Best Cat in the nation.
Patricia enjoys training clients dogs and teaching classes. It’s very exciting to watch as the owner and pup begin their journey together, building their relationship, strengthening their bond based on trust and respect.
Patricia and Gunner earned Rally Level 1 title and placed 3rd with an amazing score of 198 out of 200!
I was born and raised in Maryland and grew up around animals my whole life. From a young age, I wanted to work around animals and found a job working at a local kennel facility in Jessup. I learned all about handling dogs and learned how to work with aggressive and reactive dogs. Since starting there I knew I wanted to be a trainer. Off Leash K9 offered to help me learn and gain the experience I needed to become a certified trainer. Since starting with Off Leash I’ve learned so much about dog behaviors and will continue to learn and help families for years to come! When I’m not working, you can find me playing in men’s league hockey at the gardens ice house, going to metal concerts, trying to tire out his Aussie “Tilly” and riding roller coasters.
